IVRS is committed to providing quality treatment to adults with substance abuse issues through alcohol and drug rehabilitation services, with an emphasis on residential or outpatient treatment, and education for individuals, families, and the community. Over 5,000 individuals are served by the agency on an annual basis. During the early days of substance abuse treatment, the emphasis was placed primarily on the addict. Today, however, research proves that simply treating a person’s addiction is not enough. IVRS provides a holistic approach that takes into account the importance of family, social networks, community systems and self-help groups in the treatment and recovery process.
